Hi, I’m Gitel!

I have been a wig stylist for 23 years. From the very beginning, I prioritized continuous learning—not relying solely on my formal education but constantly listening and absorbing knowledge in every job I had.

My first boss taught me how to sew in clips, but I took it upon myself to learn where the clips should be placed for each client. My second job was with a stylist who was truly a pioneer in the industry. She handcrafted all her custom wigs, and from her, I gained invaluable knowledge about construction and personalization. She believed that no two wigs should be the same because no two heads are alike.

I carried that knowledge with me to my next positions, where I learned various methods from different companies and integrated that information into my foundation. Every new technique and idea I acquired deepened my understanding of how people wear their wigs.

When I opened Gitel Wigs, I spent the first few years customizing products for clients while building my reputation. I soon noticed that many customers were coming to my salon after struggling with ill-fitting wigs that weren’t tailored to their needs. That’s when I realized a major gap in the industry—there was no real continuing education for stylists looking to refine their skills and grow their businesses. Many classes teach the basics of becoming a stylist, but for those seeking ongoing improvement, resources were lacking.

For the past 10 years, I have been dedicated to bringing wig education to the industry. There is only so much I can do on my own, so the natural next step is to teach others—helping the industry evolve and improve as a whole.
